IFC  LEAGUE KICKS OFF FEBRUARY 8; EXTENDS REGISTRATION TO JANUARY 15.

IBADAN FOOTBALL COUNCIL (IFC) has disclosed that the 88th edition of the Competition will kick off Saturday, February 8; just as it extended closure of registration to Wednesday, January 15 

The Council  bowed to incessant pleas from Coaches and Club owners, who asked to be given more time to pool resources together in order to take part in the 190- match League. 

Rising from a meeting of the Management Board yesterday, the Council announced the extension by one more week to accommodate more teams which might be interested in participating.

The Council urged teams to conclude their registration processes early as the Council had a loaded schedule for the year. 

Teams that are yet to register are directed to pay the sum of #200,000( Two hundred thousand naira) to the Ibadan Zonal Football Association’s Zenith Bank account number 1014884262 on or before 7pm, Wednesday, January 15, 2025.

20 teams take part in the  League which is the oldest,and biggest grassroot football platform in West Africa.

Karim Adeyemi FC won the last edition of the championship as it dethroned Marvelous FC in a tight Competition which didn’t produce a clear winner until the last day of the League.

This season’s champion will go home with #1 million,while the second and third place winners pocket #400,000 and #250,000 respectively.

Additionally, teams that finished 4th to 10th position will take home #350,000 for their efforts.
