West Ham Set Sights on Awoniyi: Hammers Plot Loan Move for Forest Forward

Taiwo Awoniyi

West Ham United are eyeing a move for Nottingham Forest striker Taiwo Awoniyi, according to reports. The Hammers are desperate for attacking reinforcements following injuries to key forwards Michail Antonio, Jarrod Bowen, and Niclas Fullkrug. Awoniyi, a Nigeria international, has emerged as a top target for West Ham.

The Sun reports that West Ham are exploring a loan deal for Awoniyi until the end of the season. A permanent transfer has also been discussed, but Nottingham Forest’s £20m valuation may prove to be a stumbling block. West Ham are keen to bolster their attacking options and Awoniyi’s availability has made him an attractive option.

Awoniyi has found himself playing second fiddle to Chris Wood at Nottingham Forest this season, scoring just once in the Premier League. A move to West Ham could provide the 27-year-old with a fresh start and more regular playing time. Awoniyi was previously linked with a move to West Ham last summer, and it appears the Hammers are still keen on securing his services.

With West Ham’s attacking woes showing no signs of abating, a move for Awoniyi could provide a much-needed boost to their squad. The Hammers will be hoping to negotiate a deal with Nottingham Forest in the coming days, with a loan move appearing the most likely option at this stage
