MAN CITY SECURE VITOR REIS SIGNING: Defender Joins from Palmeiras in £29.6m Deal

Vitor Reis

Manchester City have completed the signing of defender Vitor Reis from Palmeiras in a £29.6m transfer. The 19-year-old Brazilian has represented his country at the U17 level and has made 18 league appearances for Palmeiras.

Reis was highly sought after, with several European clubs showing interest in his signature. Brighton attempted to sign him earlier in the transfer window, but Palmeiras rejected their approach. The Brazilian club has a history of selling talented players to European teams for significant fees.

Reis cited the opportunity to play under Pep Guardiola as a major factor in his decision to join Manchester City. The young defender is eager to learn from one of the world’s top managers and compete at the highest level.

This signing comes on the heels of Manchester City’s announcement of Uzbekistan centre-back Abdukodir Khusanov’s transfer from Lens for a reported fee of 40 million euros ($42 million) plus add-ons.
