Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim has taken responsibility for the club’s decision not to sign more players in the January transfer window. Despite allowing Marcus Rashford and Antony to leave on loan, United only brought in two young players, Patrick Dorgu and Ayden Heaven.

Amorim acknowledged that the decision was a “risk” but stated that he wants to bring in players with different profiles. “We are taking a risk but we want a different thing in the team, different profiles,” he said.

The United manager also emphasized the need for caution in the transfer market, citing past mistakes made by the club. Amorim is focused on building a strong foundation for the team, rather than making hasty signings.

United’s current situation is precarious, with the team sitting 13th in the Premier League. However, Amorim remains optimistic, stating that he has a “clear idea” of what he wants to achieve. “I take these risks because in the end it’s going to pay off,” he added.

United will face Leicester City in the FA Cup on Friday, with Dorgu and Heaven potentially making their debuts. Amorim’s side will look to build momentum and turn their season around.
