Kwara Utd 2-0 Shooting Stars : Oluyole Warriors unbeaten run halted in Ilorin

The unbeaten streak of Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) of Ibadan was halted on Wednesday after the Oluyole Warriors lost 2-0 to Kwara United of Ilorin.

Muhammed Kabiru and Abdullahi Ojifinmi scored in the 21st and 57th minute of the rescheduled matchday 20 fixtures played ar the Rashidi Yekini Mainbowl of the George Innih Stadium, Ilorin.

The home side were the more adventurous side in the first half, making forays into the visitors’ goal area.

Their pressure paid off in the 21st minute when Muhammed Kabiru headed home from close range, thus giving the hosts a 1-0 advantage into the break.

Shooting Stars started the second half with fresh legs with Binuyo Lookman and Samuel Ayanrinde replacing Gbolagade Adelowo and Tosin Olawale.

The Stars upped their game and pushed for the leveller but it was the Ilorin based side who added to their tally, as Abduallhi Ojifinmi scored the second goal in the 57th minute.

Efforts by the Ibadan soccer lords to come back into the game proved abortive, despite the efforts made by substitutes Godwin Odibo, Ephraim Nwachukwu and Mustapha Lawal.

Next for the Oluyole Warriors is a trip to Owerri for a matchday 24 encounter against Heartland FC on Sunday.
