Nigerian Grammy Award-winning singer and producer, Tems, has broken new ground by joining the ownership group of Major League Soccer’s San Diego Football Club.
The American club announced on Wednesday, February 12, that Tems, through her company The Leading Vibe, is now an official partner. This historic move makes her the first African female to own a stake in an MLS team, marking a significant milestone for both the artist and the league.
Tems’ involvement in sports ownership isn’t new. In 2021, she partnered with Pave Investments, an African private investment firm known for its role in NBA Africa’s strategic investment group.
This latest venture further solidifies her influence beyond music, showcasing her commitment to empowering African representation on global platforms. Her partnership with San Diego FC highlights her growing portfolio as a multifaceted entrepreneur.
