Ruud van Nistelrooy leaves position as Leicester City manager

Ruud van Nistelrooy’s long-expected exit as Leicester City boss has been confirmed more than nine weeks after the Foxes were relegated from the top flight.

The 48-year-old oversaw 19 losses and managed only five victories from his 27 games in charge of the club last campaign.

Leicester City’s relegation from the Premier League was confirmed with five games of the campaign left, but the former PSV Eindhoven manager saw out the campaign and held on to the job for another month after it concluded.

Former Everton and Burnley manager Sean Dyche has been strongly linked with replacing the Dutchman at the King Power Stadium before their return to England’s second tier.
