₦2.5 Million Prize War! Dreams Basketball Tournament 2025 Set for Epic Showdown in Ibadan

The 2025 edition of the prestigious Dreams Basketball Tournament is poised to be the biggest yet, with a staggering ₦2.5 million prize pool up for grabs as eight elite teams clash for supremacy. From August 20–25, 2025, the Obafemi Awolowo Stadium, Ibadan, will host the high-octane competition, which has become a cornerstone of Nigerian basketball development.

Defending champions Showtyme Hoopers will face fierce challengers, including Kwara Falcons, University of Ibadan, Deep Bond, Vision Sports, Ebun Comets, Hoops & Read and Rising Stars, in what promises to be a week of electrifying matchups.

This year’s edition raises the stakes with an expanded prize structure, reflecting the tournament’s growing prestige. The winning team will take home a life-changing sum, while runners-up and standout performers will also be rewarded handsomely.

Founder Tunji Soroye, a former Lagos Islanders player and University of Virginia player, continues to drive the tournament’s mission of nurturing grassroots basketball. “Our goal is to create a platform where raw talent meets opportunity,” Soroye emphasized. “This year, we’re not just rewarding winners—we’re investing in the future of the sport.”

As anticipation builds, basketball enthusiasts across the country are marking their calendars for what promises to be an unforgettable spectacle.

Will Showtyme defend their crown, or will an underdog script a Cinderella story? One thing is certain: Dreams Basketball Tournament 2025 will deliver heart-stopping action, career-defining moments, and another bold step forward for Nigerian basketball.
