All is set for the much-anticipated Olubadan Cup 2025, with the official draw ceremony scheduled to take place tomorrow, October 7, at 4 PM inside the Olubadan Stadium Hostel Hall.
This year’s edition marks the 57th anniversary of the prestigious Royal Championship, fondly dubbed the “Royal Rumble”, and promises to be one of the most fiercely contested in recent memory. Unlike previous editions, the 2025 tournament will follow a straight knockout format—no second chances, no group stages—just pure football drama from the very first whistle.
A total of 12 top clubsides from across Ibadanland have been confirmed for the tournament, all battling for the giant trophy donated by respected Justice and Ibadan Chief, Justice Chief Mashud Abass, along with a substantial cash prize.

In anticipation of a high-intensity tournament, the Ibadan Football Council (IFC) has held a strategy session with the Referees’ Association to ensure top-tier officiating standards, reflecting the fierce and royal stature of the competition.
Notably, current IFC League champions, Adeyemi FC, will not feature in this year’s contest due to an internal restructuring process.
The draws will also immediately unveil the first-round fixtures, setting the stage for an adrenaline-pumping road to the final.
