Katsina United Slams Fake Death Report, Threatens Legal Action Over “Bloody Match” Rumor

Katsina United FC has debunked viral reports claiming violence and the death of a player during their NPFL clash with Barau FC in Katsina.

In a statement on Sunday, the club’s media director, Nasir Gide, described the story as “false, misleading, and a deliberate attempt to damage the club’s image.”

Gide clarified that no fan invaded the pitch or caused chaos during the tense encounter, adding that security personnel maintained full control throughout the match.

He criticized the unnamed online platform for publishing such grave allegations without verification and accused Barau FC of spreading the false claims.

Katsina United has demanded an immediate retraction and public apology, warning that failure to comply could result in legal action.

The club reaffirmed its commitment to professionalism, discipline, and fair play on and off the field.
