In a significant move to bolster football development, the Ex-Ibadan Professional Footballers Association has sponsored six individuals for the prestigious National Institute of Sports (NIS) Coaching Course. The initiative will see three youth coaches and three ex-professional players receive high-level training.

The sponsored beneficiaries are Olumide Arobadi, Akeem Onifade, Jesuloni Oluwabukola, Oladimeji Kehinde, Olumide Ojedeji, and Adeagbo Taoheed. The association has congratulated the cohort on their selection for this career-advancing opportunity.

Association leader, Temitope Obideyi, stated that the program is a core part of their mission to give back to the community and nurture the next generation of football leadership. “This is an investment in the very foundation of the sport in Oyo State,” Obideyi said. “By empowering these coaches, we are directly building the next generation of champions.”

The course, scheduled to commence in October 2025, is designed to equip participants with modern coaching techniques and advanced tactical knowledge. The association has also pledged to sponsor three coaches annually, establishing a sustained pipeline for coaching development.

This sponsorship is widely seen as a timely intervention that will elevate the standard of coaching and talent development across the state’s football ecosystem.
