The Ex-Ibadan Professional Footballers Association (EIPFA) has announced plans to formally seal a landmark media and publicity partnership with the Association of Yoruba Sports Broadcasters in Oyo State (YOSBA), as part of its expanding grassroots football development drive in Oyo State.
The announcement followed a successful strategic meeting held at the EIPFA office at Liberty Stadium, Ibadan, on Thursday, December 18, 2025. The meeting focused on strengthening collaboration and setting the tone for extensive media engagement ahead of EIPFA’s flagship programmes, including the proposed statewide secondary school scouting games.
The meeting was chaired by the Chairman of the statewide secondary school games committe, and immediate past Chairman of Shooting Stars Sports Club of Ibadan, Rt. Honourable Babatunde Olaniyan. Members of the school games planning committee were also present, including former Super Eagles international and committee Vice Chairman, Mutiu Adepoju.
The YOSBA delegation was led by veteran Yoruba Sports broadcaster in Oyo State, Sola Ayegbajeje, alongside Obadare Oladosu and Abass Ishola, all of whom pledged strong media support for EIPFA initiatives.
The collaboration with YOSBA is expected to deliver widespread publicity, grassroots engagement, and increased visibility.
EIPFA further disclosed that the partnership agreement with YOSBA will be officially signed on January 3, 2026. On the same day, EIPFA will also formalise a partnership deal with sports kit manufacturers, Mowoola Fashion.
The planned signings come on the heels of EIPFA’s recent milestone achievement of sponsoring and graduating selected Oyo State coaches from the National Institute of Sports (NIS), Lagos—an initiative widely seen as laying a strong technical foundation for football development across Oyo State.
