CAF President Motsepe Hails Flamingos After Historic World Cup Final Qualification

CAF president Patrice Motsepe has congratulated Nigeria’s Flamingos after they made history by reaching the final of the 2026 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup.

The team secured their place in the final with a convincing 3–1 victory over Brazil in Rabat.

Their achievement marks the first time an African country has reached the final of the competition.

Nigeria and Ghana had previously finished third, in 2022 and 2012 respectively.

Motsepe said the Flamingos had made Africa and CAF proud and confirmed he would attend their final against Japan.
