Graham Potter has been appointed as the new manager of West Ham United, replacing the recently sacked Julen Lopetegui. The 49-year-old Englishman joins the Hammers on a two-and-a-half-year contract.

Potter expressed his delight at joining West Ham, stating that he had been waiting for the right opportunity. “I am delighted to be here,” he said.

“It was important to me that I waited until a job came along that I felt was right for me, and equally that I was the right fit for the Club I am joining.” Potter has a wealth of experience in the Premier League, having previously managed Chelsea and Brighton.

He will take charge of his new team for the first time when West Ham travel to Aston Villa in the FA Cup third round on Friday evening.

West Ham currently sits in 14th position on the Premier League table with 23 points from 20 games. Potter’s appointment is expected to bring a fresh perspective and stability to the team as they look to improve their standing in the league.
