Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola and his wife, Cristina Serra, have announced their separation after 30 years together. According to reports, the decision to end their marriage was made in December, with only close family and friends initially aware of the split. The separation is said to be “totally cordial, stable, and friendly.”

Guardiola and Serra met in 1994 and got married in 2014 near Barcelona. They have three children together: Maria, 24, Marius, 22, and Valentina, 17. The couple’s decision to separate is reportedly due to the distance between them, with Guardiola working in Manchester and Serra living in Barcelona.

Serra, a Brazilian journalist, has been living in Barcelona full-time since 2019, when she left Manchester to work for her family’s fashion company, Serra Claret. Despite their separation, Guardiola and Serra are said to remain on good terms, with friends and family warned not to reveal more information about the divorce.

The news of Guardiola’s separation comes just months after he signed a new two-year contract with Manchester City, committing him to the club until 2027. Despite speculation that he would leave the club at the end of his previous deal, Guardiola opted to stay on, and his personal life will likely continue to be the subject of much speculation in the coming weeks.
