Super Eagles head coach Éric Chelle has showered praise on Victor Osimhen, boldly declaring him the best striker in the world after the forward’s sensational hat-trick performance against Benin Republic, Afrosportnews reports.
Osimhen was unstoppable as Nigeria cruised to a 4-0 victory to secure their spot in the 2026 FIFA World Cup playoffs. The Galatasaray striker bagged two goals in the first half before sealing his hat-trick after the break, leaving fans in awe of his finishing power.
An elated Chelle couldn’t hide his admiration for the in-form star after the match.
“I am very happy for my players, especially the best striker in the world, Victor (Osimhen),” the Malian tactician said proudly.
Chelle also acknowledged the road ahead won’t be easy as the Super Eagles prepare to face Morocco next.
“Now we go to Morocco — it’s going to be very difficult,” he added.
With Osimhen in this kind of deadly form, though, anything seems possible for Nigeria!
