Olympic Qualifier: DR Congo to Host Nigeria Behind Closed Doors
DR Congo’s U-23 national team are set to host Nigeria’s Olympic Eagles behind closed doors in the first leg of their 2028 Olympic Games qualifying encounter.
The match is expected to take place at the TP Mazembe Stadium in Lubumbashi, one of only two stadiums currently approved for international matches in DR Congo.
The decision to exclude spectators is reportedly part of security measures introduced by the relevant authorities to ensure safety during the encounter.
The development comes as DR Congo also prepares for its senior national team’s upcoming international assignments in the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
Nigeria will be hoping to secure a positive away result before the return leg as both countries battle for a place at the 2028 Olympic Games.
