U-23 AFCON Qualifiers: Foreign-Based Players Expected in Olympic Eagles Camp

Olympic Eagles

Foreign-based professionals invited to the Olympic Eagles are expected to join the team’s camp ahead of their 2027 Africa U-23 Cup of Nations qualifying clash against DR Congo.

The development follows a goalless draw against NNL side Remo Stars in a recent friendly, which raised concerns about the performance of the home-based players.

Among those expected are Abdullahi Bewene, Peter Edokpolor, Isaac James and Abdullahi Umar, who play for clubs in the Czech Republic and Portugal.

Nigeria will face DR Congo in the first leg in Lubumbashi on November 13, before hosting the return fixture in Ikenne four days later.
