U-17 WWC Final: Flamingos Reveal Game Plan to Beat Japan and Lift Trophy
Nigeria’s Flamingos head coach, Akeem Busari, has revealed that his team will adopt a familiar approach when they face Japan in Saturday’s 2026 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup final in Morocco.
The Nigerian side booked their place in the final after an impressive 3–1 victory over Brazil in the semi-finals. Japan, meanwhile, secured their final spot by defeating North Korea.
Busari said the Flamingos would approach the final with the same character and playing philosophy they displayed during their 3–1 group-stage victory over North Korea.
According to the coach, Japan and North Korea share similar football philosophies, particularly their preference for building from the back, playing forward passes and using their full-backs to support attacks.
The Nigerian coach expressed confidence in his players’ preparations, stressing that their ultimate ambition is to defeat Japan and win the competition’s trophy.
