CAF Awards 2025: Salah, Osimhen, Hakimi Lead Star-Packed Nominee List

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has officially announced the 2025 CAF Awards nominees, honouring Africa’s best footballers, coaches, clubs, and national teams for their outstanding performances between January 6 and October 15, 2025.

According to CAF, a panel of experts — including members of the Technical & Development Committee, CAF Legends, experienced coaches, and top journalists — shortlisted 10 nominees per category based on achievements in both club and international competitions.

Men’s Player of the Year

Headlining the list are Mohamed Salah (Egypt/Liverpool), Victor Osimhen (Nigeria/Galatasaray), Achraf Hakimi (Morocco/PSG), and Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa (Cameroon/Napoli). DR Congo’s Fiston Mayele (Pyramids) also makes the cut after firing his club to CAF Champions League glory.

Other nominees: Denis Bouanga, Serhou Guirassy, Oussama Lamlioui, Iliman Ndiaye, and Pape Matar Sarr.

Men’s Goalkeeper of the Year

Contenders include Andre Onana (Cameroon/Trabzonspor), Yassine Bonou (Morocco/Al Hilal), and Stanley Nwabali (Nigeria/Chippa United).
Others: Vozinha, Ahmed El Shenawy, Munir Mohamedi, Edouard Mendy, Marc Diouf, Ronwen Williams, and Aymen Dahmen.

Men’s Interclub Player of the Year

Top club performers: Fiston Mayele, Emam Ashour, Blati Toure, Issoufou Dayo, Oussama Lamlioui, Ibrahim Adel, Mohamed Hrimat, Mohamed Chibi, Ahmed Samy, and Shomari Kapombe.

Men’s Coach of the Year

Leading the tactical minds: Walid Regragui (Morocco), Hossam Hassan (Egypt), and Bubista (Cape Verde).
Also nominated: Krunoslav Jurcic, Sami Trabelsi, Romuald Rakotondrabe, Moine Chaabani, Tarik Sektioui, Mohamed Ouahbi, and Pape Thiaw.

Men’s Young Player of the Year

Africa’s rising stars include Noah Sadiki (DR Congo/Sunderland), Daniel Bameyi (Nigeria/Primorje), and Tylon Smith (South Africa/QPR).
Others: Asharaf Tapsoba, Alynho Haidara, Abdellah Ouazane, Houssam Essadak, Othmane Maamma, Momoh Kamara, and Mbekezeli Mbokazi.

Men’s National Team of the Year

Nominees: Algeria, Cape Verde, Côte d’Ivoire, Egypt, Ghana, Morocco, Morocco U-20, Senegal, South Africa, and Tunisia.

Men’s Club of the Year

Top African clubs battling for glory: Pyramids (Egypt), RS Berkane (Morocco), Mamelodi Sundowns (South Africa), Orlando Pirates (South Africa), Simba (Tanzania), CR Belouizdad, CS Constantine, ASEC Mimosas, Stellenbosch, and Al Hilal (Sudan).

The CAF Awards will honour the best of African football in a grand ceremony later this year — and with such a star-studded line-up, competition for each award is set to be fierce.
