U-17 WWC Final: Japan Captain Vows to Make History Against Nigeria
Japan captain Honoka Yotsumoto says her team are determined to win their first-ever FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup title against Nigeria.
Japan will face the Flamingos in Saturday’s final after winning all six of their matches in Morocco.
Their impressive campaign has included victories over strong opponents such as Ghana and North Korea.
Yotsumoto said the team’s progress through difficult challenges had strengthened their confidence ahead of the final.
She insists Japan are focused on winning their remaining match and returning home with the trophy.
